Key Points

  • The pattern of giving in the New Testament is a regular rhythm of generosity to meet the needs of under-resourced fellow believers (1-4).

  • The sincerity of our faith is demonstrated by the character of our obedience. Intent without action is disobedience (1-4).

  • All of us, at some level, are called to lean into opposition for the cause of Christ. Remember, this life is not about pursuing comfort. We need to hold fast with strength and courage (5-9, 13-14).

  • We need to do the right thing and ask God to work in our hearts throughout the process (13-14, 20).
