As we read the Old Testament, we see generations of believers putting their faith in the promised Messiah. Their hearts look forward to a Savior to come. We have the blessing of looking back and celebrating Jesus, who came to die for the sins of the world and rose to give victory over sin and death. Through this Advent season, we want to not only celebrate the first advent but look ahead to Jesus’s return when he will make all things new. The final book of the Bible describes this moment for us in beautiful detail:

I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever. And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new”. And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”

Revelation 21:3–5

As we fix our eyes on Jesus this season, will you pray with us over all the broken and hurting in our world and all those that are actively working to provide care for them using this Women at Grace Advent Calendar? Please consider memorizing the verses listed on Saturdays of every week.

Every year, I put this calendar on my refrigerator so I see it frequently. It has been a beautiful reminder of what Jesus has done and what he promises to do when he comes again. I pray that it is for you too.
