We live in a world where Satan has power, and he is actively working to bring it under his influence. However, God is committed to carving out a people and a place for himself. He offers himself as our Warrior King, able to redeem us if we accept him as he offers himself.

Study Questions

Application

  1. Have you experienced God’s deliverance in such a way that your life was radically reoriented? If so, how did your life change?

  2. Do those in your sphere of influence know that you follow Jesus? What does it look like for you to function as God’s representative to those around you?

Key Points

  • From the beginning, God’s plan has been to carve out a people and a place for himself. This relationship is exclusive, and it requires obedience.

  • God established the Tabernacle as a place where he could dwell among his people. Eventually, Jesus—and then the Holy Spirit—bring his presence within us.

  • God is so powerful and glorious that his presence is a threat to our fallen nature. This is why the cross is necessary to redeem us.

  • We have a mission to represent God to humanity. Our lives should be so compelling that those around us are drawn to Jesus.
