Communications Strategist

Hours/Schedule

36 - 40 Hours

Overall Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and oversee communications presence via written resources and social media channels.

Specific Responsibilities

Content strategy

  • Lead weekly content strategy meeting to formulate promotion plans for the coming weeks.

  • Work closely with leadership to gather information to coordinate, plan, and implement comprehensive communication strategies across all communication channels 

  • Manage selection and production of central announcements (working with SM) and pre-service slides

  • Manage selection and production of clips, quotes, and other content to extend teaching into the week

  • Consistently generate innovative ideas for communication strategies, channels, and methods.

  • Work closely with ministries and campuses to plan promotion campaigns

  • Participate on the Creative Advisory Board for Communications

Digital Media Management 

  • Manage all Grace Church all-campus social media accounts and mobile app push notifications

  • Train, support, advise, and provide content oversight and recommendations for campus and ministry accounts (Facebook groups, Instagram accounts, others as needed) 

  • Regular analytics reporting to improve engagement and effectiveness of Grace Church communication

  • Develop and manage volunteer social media team as needed 

Photography Management

  • Manage volunteer photography team and photo collection process

  • Plan and execute staged photo shoots and other high value photography

  • Participate on staff onboarding team with responsibility for new and updated staff photos

Writing/Editing/Resource production

  • Plan, write, and produce central newsletter(s) including communicating with ministries for promotion needs and initial copy.

  • Maintain all media policy guidelines

Preferred Skills

  • Well-versed in the professional use of social media channels

  • Working understanding of digital media analytics and best practices

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

  • Creative eye and experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus

  • Able to multitask and carry a variety of work responsibilities
