Creative Arts Program Director

Overall Responsibilities

Grace Church is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and organized Program Director to launch and lead our Creative Arts Program for 7th-12th graders. This role is responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the program-from curriculum scheduling and budget management to instructor recruitment and marketing-ensuring that our students receive a high-quality, faith-infused arts education.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Instructor Recruitment & Scheduling

    • Recruit and hire qualified instructors for all program disciplines (studio art, acting & stage performance, short film, and creative writing).

    • Develop and manage a detailed schedule for instructors and classes, ensuring smooth program operations.

    • Coordinate with instructors regarding class content and any adjustments to the curriculum (without being directly responsible for training).

  • Administrative Oversight

    • Oversee the program budget, ensuring that all expenses, including materials and instructor fees, remain within established limits.

    • Collaborate with or supervise any administrative staff/volunteers responsible for day-to-day program logistics, including fee collection and student attendance tracking.

  • Marketing & Recruitment

    • Develop and execute a recruitment and marketing strategy to attract students from the Grace Church community.

    • Work with Communications to create promotional materials and campaigns to effectively communicate the program's vision and schedule.

  • Parent & Community Communication

    • Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents regarding program updates, schedule changes, and student progress.

  • Program Coordination & Event/Showcase Planning

    • Oversee the overall program schedule from its initial month-long intensives through its transition to a weekly schedule.

    • Coordinate major events such as seasonal worship/showcases and final exhibitions/performances.

    • Work closely with instructors and creative teams to ensure that the program's artistic and educational goals are met.

  • Continuous Improvement

    • Monitor program effectiveness and collect feedback from students, parents, and instructors.

    • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the quality and impact of the Creative Arts Program.

Qualifications

  • Experience

    • Proven experience in arts program administration, education, or a related field.

    • Prior experience in hiring, scheduling, and managing instructors is a plus.

  • Skills

    • Strong organizational and time management skills.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for marketing and community engagement.

    • Financial acumen to manage a program budget.

    • Passion for the arts and an understanding of integrating creative disciplines with faith-based learning.

  • Personal Attributes

    • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and creative problem-solver.

    • Not easily frustrated.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
