Forge Parents Day Away | 2026
Last Saturday, our high school Forge students and their parents gathered together from across several of our campuses for an intentional time of teaching and to have meaningful conversations. The Downtown campus hosted over one hundred parents and students for a day full of encouragement, discipleship, and connection.
“It was a great day with a lot of time and space for parents to engage their kids on a personal and vulnerable level. I think the talks were open-ended enough that parents could tailor questions to their specific relationship in the way they needed. Students were challenged to confess ways they have not respected, loved, or honored their parents—which I think created some really good momentum and honesty for the conversations.” –Micaela S.
In its third year, this unique event took place over a full day with several speakers and sessions and included folks from five different campuses. Some sessions were split by gender. Moms and daughters learned about emotions, connection, and relationships; while fathers and sons learned about barriers to deeper connection. Together, students learned about hindrances to respect, love, and honor. Parents spent time learning about the goals for this season of parenting. Finally, everyone gathered back together for a session on family culture, milestones, and appreciating parents’ boundaries.
“We see fruit from it every single year. There are parents who have been there all three years and they had a lot of encouraging things to say about how much fruit they’ve seen over the years.” –Micaela S.
We are so grateful for the meaningful conversations, fellowship, and discipleship that this gathering offered for our parents and students. Please join us as we pray for continued connection and growth in these key discipleship areas. If you’d like to learn more about our Forge high school ministry, click below.
