Speirō | Growing in Leadership 2025

Ministry Focused

Speirō is our eight-month leadership program for young men and women in their early to mid-twenties. Derived from a Greek word meaning “to sow,” the name Speirō is inspired by powerful words spoken by the apostle Paul in Galatians 6, “You will always harvest what you plant.” Holding that truth closely, we have 24 Speirō interns this year who are sowing seeds of godliness and growth in their own souls and in the local church.

Leader Joey Espinosa reflects, “These interns are all really engaged on Monday nights during class, and they cover a lot of responsibilities for the campus they each come from. We have enjoyed volunteering as leaders this semester as we’ve gotten to see how these young men and women are seeking to grow in their relationship with Jesus and in their relationship with the church.”

Participants in Speirō work full-time jobs in the community, and they give eight to ten hours a week serving in one of our ministry areas. They also attend weekly classes designed to help further their self-awareness, grow in their leadership capacity, and deepen their faith as believers. A variety of staff lead these weekly classes about topics such as Sowing to the Spirit, Fear of Man, Generosity, Ambition, the Local Church, and more.

One of our interns reflects, “Speirō has been incredibly eye opening! The classes have shown me many practical ways God loves and cares for us as his people. We’re able to step in and fill gaps in different ministries where our gifts can really glorify God! The spiritual equipping I’ve experienced will stay with me and speak into all areas of my life. Being in Speirō has made me incredibly thankful for our church!”

Please join us in praying for these 24 men and women—and the staff who pour into them—as we take this opportunity to invest in the next generation of believers!
