Prepare for Next Week: Genesis 38

Passage Excerpt:

About this time, Judah left home and moved to Adullam, where he stayed with a man named Hirah. There he saw a Canaanite woman, the daughter of Shua, and he married her. When he slept with her, she became pregnant and gave birth to a son, and he named the boy Er. Then she became pregnant again and gave birth to another son, and she named him Onan. And when she gave birth to a third son, she named him Shelah. At the time of Shelah’s birth, they were living at Kezib.

About the Series

Thread weaving through fabric

God said a nation would come from Abraham's line, but by the time we reach Joseph, his promise looks like it's unraveling: a favorite son is sold by his own brothers, a family is torn apart by jealousy, and a famine threatens to wipe out everyone involved. But God continues to prove that even the worst circumstances bow to his plans. Through Joseph's life, we see God work through betrayal, hardship, and years of waiting to provide for his people and fulfill his promises.
