Front Porch Housing | A Year in Review

Culturally Engaged

One of our local partners is Front Porch Housing, and they recently shared some year-end reflections in their newsletter! God is working in exciting ways through this supportive housing community, and we hope you will take time to read the update below and prayerfully consider how you can come alongside and serve—whether through prayer, volunteering, or donations.

2024: A Year in Review

This year, Front Porch Housing had the privilege of helping 282 individuals and families move into safe, dignified, and affordable housing. Through our program, we've seen the profound impact of supportive programming and a sense of community on people's lives—from children thriving in school and at home to adults finding jobs, gaining education, building savings, and having goals for their futures.

Some of the highlights of 2024 include:

  • Savings Match: Since May 2023, residents have saved $52,062 and then matched dollar for dollar through our savings match program. That is a $104,000 financial impact across 98 individuals!
  • Transportation Support: Our Side Garage team completed 252 service calls on vehicles over the year. These calls ranged from oil changes to radiator replacements, brake replacements, and other critical safety and maintenance services to keep our residents' vehicles on the roads. We have also received 22 donated vehicles to help fill the transportation gap for our residents. These cars provide increased employment opportunities & retention and equip residents for greater independence in the future.
  • Professional Counseling Provided: We continued to partner with local counselors through Front Porch Counseling Center and City Center Counseling to provide 388 counseling sessions for children and adults in 2024.
  • Baptisms and Ongoing Spiritual Growth: This year, we celebrated the baptism of 2 residents in local churches, the salvation of 1 young man, and the ongoing spiritual growth of residents. Through Bible study, confessing their sins, and embracing God’s love, they are deepening their relationship with the Lord.

While we celebrate and rejoice in the growth we see, we also know the opportunities continue. As we look to 2025, our goal is to continue to serve our current residents with supportive services that address core needs and look to expand onsite services.
