In Exodus 2, we learn about Moses—a man whose providential birth, upbringing, cultural background, and choices position him to be an integral part of the rescue plan that God is working out for his people.

Study Questions

Application

  1. Think about the life God has given you: your family, heritage, upbringing, education, passions, experience, talents, resources, etc. How has God uniquely equipped you to move his Kingdom forward?

  2. Where is God calling you to “go out,” as Moses did—to leave your palaces of comfort and convenience? What holds you back from obeying?

Key Points

  • God isn’t always clearly visible, but he is always present and active.

  • In our culture, abundant information and a lack of control fuel anxiety. When we put our hope and faith in God’s sovereignty, he will act on our behalf at the right time, and this should give us peace.

  • Until you are willing to give up the thing that is most precious to you, you cannot fully experience what God has for you.

  • We are more impactful for God when we stop comparing ourselves to others and are content with who he made us to be.

  • God can take our desert seasons and teach us through them.

  • God always keeps his promises; he can never forget to be faithful.
