Did you know that we have partnered with Christ For the City International (CFCI) in Nicaragua for more than two decades? Over the years, the generosity of our congregations has allowed us to come alongside our friends at CFCI to support them and minister to local churches and communities in Nicaragua. This summer, CFCI held a medical clinic in Rivas for pastors, leaders, and their families. These pastors are participants in the training courses we started in Rivas last year and will continue for another two years.

One facet of our Outreach ministry is Missions Grants—a funding program that invites our members to apply for yearly grants up to $2,500 to support specific projects or programs of their personal ministry that serve the Upstate. As applications for Missions Grants are now open, we’d love to highlight the ministry of one of our current recipients. Recently, Iglesia Gracia member Mally Mitchell received a grant on behalf of Just Say Something.

Have you heard of the Mosaic Family Festival? Mosaic is our ministry for children, students, and adults with disabilities, and each summer we host a fun event for these families across all campuses to come together and share in some joy! Our Kairos interns did an amazing job planning and organizing a Candy Kingdom theme—turning the entire Pelham campus into a game board with stations for snow cones, cotton candy, lollipop putt-putt, balloon animals, inflatables, and more.

One facet of our Care & Recovery ministry is a summer program called Ascend—a camp for kids and teens who have experienced the divorce of their parents, have lost a loved one, or have a sibling with disabilities. This week-long program gives children an opportunity to discuss their common experiences, learn what God says about these challenges, practice healthy coping skills, and connect with each other and their leaders through fun games and activities!

Thank you, Grace Church, for providing 1,516 backpacks full of school supplies through our Back-to-School Drive supporting children in need across the Upstate! It is a blessing to be able to deliver these backpacks to local DSS workers and other partners knowing that each one has been filled with care. These vulnerable children each have unique circumstances and barriers to the gospel, so we are praying that the gift of a backpack will speak to them of Jesus' love and provision.

Recently, a group of 14 members from our Missional Living Groups at the Taylors campus had the opportunity to spend a week in Costa Rica in partnership with Filter of Hope. The groups met as a year-long class with the aim of serving vulnerable people in our community and out in the world. Members learned about immigrants, refugees, and low income communities while engaging in service projects through partnerships with local and international ministries. This international trip was a capstone to their year-long missional living growth!

Over the past several months, volunteers from our campuses have continued to work in various ways to support folks in our communities and those in Western North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene. Even though much time has passed since the storm, many are still picking up the pieces and grieving immense loss. We are grateful for an opportunity to continue supporting recovery and to show God’s love in tangible ways.

Recently, our Iglesia Gracia campus hosted a Latino Resource Fair—a space lovingly created to serve and support our Latino community. More than 120 people attended this free community event, which included Spanish-language access to vital resources (such as information on health, employment, education, housing, and legal advice) and some family fun!
