Supporting Children in Kenya

This summer, a team of 12 adults and 10 students traveled to Kenya to support our partners in OVC Kenya, a program that provides sustainable support and promotes long-term relationships with orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya. Through our partnership with Bernard Kabaru and local churches in Limuru, Kenya, we are helping expand an existing program that provides physical, academic, and relational support to children in need within each church’s local community.

Last week, a team of members traveled to Kenya to come alongside our partners there and host a medical clinic. Our team helped provide health, dental, and vision care for communities with limited access to healthcare. Although many stories of God’s grace emerged on this trip, we wanted to share one special story from one of the team members.

Medical Team Serves in Kenya

Last month, a medical mission team traveled to Kenya to host a medical clinic, partner with local churches, and support local pastors and their families. The team was able to see over 700 people while they were there, offering dental, vision, and medical care. Each person who came through the clinic not only received physical care, they also talked to a local pastor who engaged them around the gospel and in prayer.

Over the past few years, many of our international missions trips have been put on hold due to the pandemic. So this fall, we were excited to be able to send a medical mission team to serve with our partners in Kenya for the first time in three years. The team consisted of medical providers, dentists, nurses, and several other members who helped support and organize the clinics—a total of 19 members.
