Many of us dramatically underestimate God's desire for us to experience his presence. The life and person of Jesus communicates and actualizes God living among his people, and the same Spirit that empowered his mission is available to us.

Study Questions

  2. Are there any ways in which you may be quenching the Spirit’s power?

  3. What spiritual disciplines do you need to develop in order to experience God’s presence more fully?

Key Points

  • Because he is faithful and without sin, Jesus is a suitable container for the glory and Spirit of God.

  • It’s possible to be busy with lots of spiritual activity and miss God’s presence among us (Luke 10:38–42).

  • Jesus represents the idea that God wants us to experience his presence to a greater degree.

  • The Spirit empowers Jesus to face temptation, trust God, and remain faithful to the end.
