Reading the Old Testament raises lots of questions for us. Why do bad things happen to God’s people? Why does God allow his people to suffer? How can a loving, merciful God also be angry and violent? Many Old Testament stories are hard to read, and unimaginable evil occurs. Through this series, Prophets, we want to explore the big picture of what God is doing through Israel over the course of the Old Testament. We will study four prophets at different time periods of Israel’s history, reading about each one to better understand how God is setting the stage for Jesus’ arrival.
