Last month, we wrapped up another fantastic summer of BridgeBuilders—a six-week camp for children ages 5 to 12 that takes place in Hampton County. Hosted by Varnville First Baptist Church and facilitated by Grace Church students, volunteers, and staff, this camp aims to bridge gaps, foster relationships, and point young people in the community to Christ in order to become the next generation of leaders.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nearly 150 students and leaders who served this summer at Camp Griggs! Held in the heart of the Poe Mill community, the camp is hosted by Griggs Church and is facilitated by Grace Church Students. This partnership provides a supportive, Christ-centered environment where our students lead campers ages 5–12 in worship, Bible time, games, team-building activities, field trips, and more.

Did you know that we have partnered with Christ For the City International (CFCI) in Nicaragua for more than two decades? Over the years, the generosity of our congregations has allowed us to come alongside our friends at CFCI to support them and minister to local churches and communities in Nicaragua. This summer, CFCI held a medical clinic in Rivas for pastors, leaders, and their families. These pastors are participants in the training courses we started in Rivas last year and will continue for another two years.

One facet of our Outreach ministry is Missions Grants—a funding program that invites our members to apply for yearly grants up to $2,500 to support specific projects or programs of their personal ministry that serve the Upstate. As applications for Missions Grants are now open, we’d love to highlight the ministry of one of our current recipients. Recently, Iglesia Gracia member Alexandra Guarecuco received a grant on behalf of Just Say Something.

Have you heard of the Mosaic Family Festival? Mosaic is our ministry for children, students, and adults with disabilities, and each summer we host a fun event for these families across all campuses to come together and share in some joy! Our Kairos interns did an amazing job planning and organizing a Candy Kingdom theme—turning the entire Pelham campus into a game board with stations for snow cones, cotton candy, lollipop putt-putt, balloon animals, inflatables, and more.

One facet of our Care & Recovery ministry is a summer program called Ascend—a camp for kids and teens who have experienced the divorce of their parents, have lost a loved one, or have a sibling with disabilities. This week-long program gives children an opportunity to discuss their common experiences, learn what God says about these challenges, practice healthy coping skills, and connect with each other and their leaders through fun games and activities!

Thank you, Grace Church, for providing 1,516 backpacks full of school supplies through our Back-to-School Drive supporting children in need across the Upstate! It is a blessing to be able to deliver these backpacks to local DSS workers and other partners knowing that each one has been filled with care. These vulnerable children each have unique circumstances and barriers to the gospel, so we are praying that the gift of a backpack will speak to them of Jesus' love and provision.
