Celebrating 4 Years of Front Porch Housing
It’s time to celebrate! Four years ago, Front Porch Housing opened its doors with a mission to serve our Greenville community by helping individuals and families move from crisis to connection. This supportive housing program began in 2022 by meeting the needs of one member and has grown into a nonprofit ministry empowering over 400 residents to thrive. To celebrate another year, folks gathered this past Saturday evening for a time of worship, sharing stories of impact, and hearing updates on upcoming projects.

Through a comprehensive range of services, Front Porch Housing addresses residents' physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. As human beings made in the image of God, we all need stable housing and a community to lean on, but they are not always available. It takes a community working together to break cycles of instability and to provide hope in Christ. Along with Grace Church, Front Porch Housing is supported by NewSpring Greenville, Downtown Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church, Buncombe Street Methodist Church, New Hope Greenville, and Harvest Anglican Church.
Three new opportunities are unfolding at Front Porch Housing:
- The Front Porch Health Clinic will help provide dental care, medical care, and physical therapy services for residents and the community. Construction is almost complete.
- Funds are being raised to open the Side Garage—a permanent space to restore vehicles and help provide reliable transportation.
- Through a social enterprise initiative, dignified work opportunities are being created for residents to gain skills, confidence, and income as they rebuild their lives.
