First Mission Trip for Taylors 24Seven Students

Recently, Taylors campus leaders took a group of their 24Seven students (7th and 8th graders) to Myrtle Beach for a weekend-long mission trip. Students served members of First Baptist Conway GracePoint Church through yardwork projects, spent time in the Word, and even played a little in the surf.

“During our time away, we studied Philippians 2:1–5 and learned about selflessness and unity in the Spirit,” says Students staff member Allie Black. “We wanted to give our middle schoolers the opportunity to selflessly give their time and energy to someone outside of themselves and their circle.”

The group of 13 students and 7 leaders put Philippians 2 into practice by working alongside First Baptist Conway GracePoint Church students and leaders to mulch, weed, garden, and more for a handful of members of the local congregation who needed yardwork assistance.

“This was the first mission trip our Taylors 24Seven students have ever taken!” Allie beams. “It was a blessing to me personally to see the next generation—as silly and disruptive as they are—serving others without much complaint. As they shoveled and mulched side by side, they built relationships and even had some fun.”

We are grateful for this unique opportunity, and we are asking God to use this experience to grow the next generation closer to him.

Allie adds, “We are praying that the Lord will deepen their friendships with one another, help them pursue unity within our church and with other believers, and make serving not just a habit, but a heart posture.”

Will you join us in that prayer?
