Wisdom and Time
Key Points
The more we acknowledge and accept that life is lived in seasons, the more sense we will be able to make of life and time.
Don’t miss the current moment by being preoccupied with “what’s next.” God intends the fruit of our labor to be enjoyed, not what fills us.
Many of our frustrations in life can come from a failure to transition from one season to the next.
God makes everything good in its time, but we are incapable of fully understanding his ways. This perspective helps us make sense of our seasons.
Fearing God should be our priority. A proper fear of God brings reverence, awe, and joy.
Jesus drew strength and perspective through prayer with the Father.
The only way we can enjoy the ups and downs of life is through a personal relationship with Jesus.
Application
Does the way I spend my time indicate that fearing and obeying God is my top priority?
Main Passage Excerpt:
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.
