Serving in Scotland | 2026

God has opened a door for ministry in the UK. Eight members of our Anderson campus traveled to Inverness, Scotland, this summer to continue developing a partnership with Merkinch & South Kessock Free Church. “This was our first trip with our newly established partner,” says Anderson Campus Pastor Stephen Dickey. “We spent time building relationships with members of the local church and served the community in a fun and tangible way.”

Nestled in the picturesque Scottish Highlands, Inverness, like much of Scotland, has a long Christian heritage, but today many people identify as having no religious affiliation, and regular church attendance is relatively low. Anderson member Brenna Morris reflects on passing many former churches and feeling a palpable disconnect within the community: “It’s such a beautiful place, and yet, you can sense such a quiet longing for hope.”

Merkinch & South Kessock Free Church is on a mission to meet that longing with the gospel. “Every day, we walked across the bridge to the church,” Brenna reflects. “I was challenged by how deeply pastor Chris Davidson knows his people and how intimately they live life with one another.” Chris encouraged Brenna and the rest of the group to be themselves when sharing the gospel—not overcomplicating it, not seeking perfection, just be salt and light.

In addition to building relationships, the team helped host a free community fun day open to everyone in the area. The balloon animals, hot dogs, games, face painting, and bounce houses served as a platform for fellowship and helped to build the foundation for deeper connection. Stephen says, “This event far exceeded expectations, and many of the residents asked if we would do it again next year!”

Brenna reflects, “I was so encouraged by what God is doing in Inverness! He’s pulling people from brokenness to walk in life and freedom with him.” Please join us in praising God for this opportunity to share truth and hope!
